New Patients at Oyler Chiropractic
Your First Visit
Dr. Oyler will join you for a no charge, one-on-one consultation to determine whether your condition is one he can treat. If so, he’ll talk with you about how he can treat you and what we can do to help you find relief. If chiropractic is not the best way to address your specific problem, Dr. Oyler will make sure to give you the best referral possible.
If you’re a good candidate for chiropractic, Dr. Oyler will conduct a thorough examination and, now armed with more information, will give you a preliminary diagnosis of your condition and explain how he can best treat you. You’ll begin your treatment during this first visit because our goal is to get you feeling better as soon as possible. If your condition suggests that X-rays are required, you’ll be referred to a local provider for imaging.
In all, your first visit will last approximately 60 minutes. You’ll receive your adjustment and will likely receive an additional therapy to complement the adjustment and further your healing. Depending on your condition, other therapy may also be used.
Your Second Visit
The next time we see you, Dr. Oyler will review with you your case history and his findings from your consultation and exam along with making sure you understand your diagnosis completely. Together, you’ll agree upon a schedule of care, and Dr. Oyler will answer any questions you might have about the plan for your care. You’ll continue to receive care as long as you both deem necessary.
This second visit will take only about 20 to 30 minutes.
Future Visits
Each person’s care looks a little different, depending on your specific needs and concerns. A typical visit might consist of a chiropractic adjustment and a possible therapy, complemented by low-tech rehabilitation using resistance bands and balls if necessary. Routine visits last anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the care you’re receiving.
Do I Have to Come for the Rest of My Life?
You may be concerned that, once you see a chiropractor, you’ll have to continue your care indefinitely or risk your condition returning. Dr. Oyler doesn’t subscribe to that thinking. At Oyler Chiropractic, the approach to care is strictly patient-centered. He will discuss with you the benefits of long-term chiropractic care, but the choice whether to continue care is yours. Dr. Oyler respects your decision to discontinue your care once you’ve found the relief you want. Our door is always open, should you change your mind.
Throughout the course of your care, Dr. Oyler will provide you with ongoing, one-on-one education about your condition and your treatment. Rather than overwhelming you from the beginning with a lot of information, he will give you information at each visit, making it easier to understand and put to use.
